What We Do

FBO Solutions and Expertise

Our three principals have a combined total of 50+ years of diverse financial planning experience.  We are trained and skilled in strategic, operational, tax and continuation planning for closely-held business; and retirement, risk, estate, tax, and other planning disciplines for individuals.  Our principal focus is to help business owners get more out of their closely-held businesses.

FBO Wealth Systems is our asset management arm—a source of unbiased investment advice and solutions (and the current focus of our home page).  We manage portfolios to meet long-term financial objectives and emphasize investing in assets which are in major secular (long-duration) bullish trends.

Our wealth management process includes early identification of client investment objectives and philosophy, which become a performance baseline going forward.  We identify and invest in major bull markets around the globe, taking positions early or after major corrections and monitoring investments closely.  At this time our primary focus is on preserving purchasing power during these turbulent times, while avoiding unnecessary risk.

Family Business Office, Inc. is an investment advisor, registered with the state of Texas.  We have a legal obligation to represent our clients’ interests above our own, and conduct our business so as to assure clients that they can be absolutely certain that we will always act with total integrity on their behalf in our quest to help them achieve their goals.

We publish a quarterly market outlook, as guidance for our clients.

Employee Group Plans.  FBO’s emphasis is on structuring cost-effective plans that fit the objectives and budgets of our small business clients.

FBO has extensive experience in the analysis, design and implementation of health insurance plans for small businesses and individuals—including Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), dual-level plans, and partially self-funded plans.  We are on the front lines of those digesting and strategizing the impact on small business of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare.”)

We also consult on, setup and maintain all types of retirement plans for small business—including SEPs, SIMPLEs, ESOPs, and age-weighted profit sharing plans.  Our preferred 401(k) solution is a self-directed plan offered by Charles Schwab, featuring online access and trading, and unlimited investment choices.

Risk management offerings include disability and long-term care, low-load permanent life insurance, and the lowest rates possible for level-premium term life insurance.

Accounting and tax services.  As a tax-sensitive advisor, FBO always tries to consider the tax consequences of our planning and investment actions.  Our accounting and tax specialist principal has years of experience with small business tax issues including payroll preparation and administration, federal and state tax reports, bookkeeping, and the generation of financial statements.

FBO has also been taking additional proactive measures to safeguard client assets from market, government, and other threats emanating from this historic global transformation.
