FBO Community Service Presentations – Lineup for 2010

Family Business Office, Inc. (FBO) is making the following presentations available in 2010-11 for business and civic groups.  These Power Point presentations can be tailored to fit a 30 minute business luncheon, a 50 minute convention breakout session or a workshop of up to 90 minutes.  Wayne Peterson (brief bio below) makes most of the presentations.

Transforming Your Business to Benefit From a New Reality.  (September 1, 2010)  Gone are the ‘good times’, when money was easy to get and everything rose in perceived value.  The massive credit bubble that developed over generations has popped.  In its place, we find ourselves dealing with the worst economic situation America has ever faced.  This presentation will outline the potential perils that lie immediately ahead and recommended actions that small business owners should be considering.

Dancing Through the Storm.  (2009, updated for 2010)  After a year in the eye of a global financial hurricane, we are moving into the back – and more dangerous – side of the storm.  We are also near the midpoint of a ‘real-assets’ era, in which tangible assets and investments are substantially outperforming financial assets (stocks and bonds).  Understanding and adjusting to the fact that economic disruptions are far from over is a necessary first step to insuring your financial survival.  This presentation covers secular market concepts and recommended investment changes, including the use of gold to develop an anti-risk portfolio.  It also highlights specific steps you can take to safeguard your wealth during the daunting environment we face in 2010-2012.

Moving On.  (2008)  Do you expect to run your business forever?  If not, do you have an exit plan in place?  Effective transition planning should start at least two years ahead of your planned departure—and the planning should be comprehensive if you want to assure that the transfer is made on your terms and meets your objectives.  This workshop will help you to weigh your three alternatives (pass on to the next generation, sell to employees, or sell to an outsider).  It summarizes steps for preparing and transferring the business and for redeploying your assets for the family’s long term benefit.

Wakeup, Americans!  (2007)  Your Constitutional rights are being quietly taken away and US sovereignty is at risk.  Published plans indicate that near-serfdom may lie ahead for our children and grandchildren.  An increasing number of citizens are asking what can be done to reverse these trends.  This workshop reviews what freedoms have been lost, what’s ahead – including “shadow government” works such as the Trans-Texas Corridor, North American Union and the Amero – and what you and I can do about it.

Additional presentations from prior years, dealing with more conventional financial planning topics, can also be scheduled.  These include planning for retirement, estate planning basics, new developments in medical insurance, funding a college education, identifying and managing risk, considerations for starting a business, 401(k) and IRA rules, and turning your business into a legacy.
