Family Business Office, Inc., an independent financial planning firm, is committed to safeguarding the confidential information of its clients. We hold all personal information provided to our firm in the strictest confidence. These records include all personal information that we collect from you in connection with any of these services provided by Family Business Office, Inc. We have never disclosed information to nonaffiliated third parties, except as permitted by law, and do not anticipate doing so in the future. If we were to anticipate such a change in firm policy, we would be prohibited under the law from doing so without advising you first. As you know, we use health and financial information that you provide us to help you meet your personal financial goals, while guarding against any real or perceived infringements of your rights of privacy.   • The categories of nonpublic personal information that we collect from a client depend upon the scope of the client engagement. It may include information about personal finances, information about health, to the extent that it is needed for the planning process, information about transactions between you and third parties, and information from consumer reporting agencies.
  • For unaffiliated third parties that require access to your personal information, including financial service companies, consultants, and auditors, we also require strict confidentiality in our agreements with them and expect them to keep this information private. Federal and state regulators also may review firm records as permitted by law.
  • We do not provide your personally identifiable information to mailing list vendors or solicitors for any purpose.
  • Personally identifiable information about you will be maintained during the time you are a client, and for the required time thereafter that such records are required to be maintained by federal and state securities laws, and consistent with the CFP Board Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility. After this required period of record retention, all such information will be destroyed.
  • To access the Client Only portion of our website, Family Business Office, Inc. (FBO) clients are assigned a username and a password. "Cookies" may be used to verify this identification information when logging onto this portion of our site. Cookies are identifiers which a website can send to your browser to keep on your computer, and contain information such as a user ID that allows access to secure portions of a site, or to track the pages you've visited.
  • This website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that FBO is not responsible for the privacy practices of other such sites.   • We may receive medical or health information on an application for insurance or when we process a claim. We do not share that medical or health information among our family of companies, or with unrelated companies, except as necessary to process transactions on behalf of our customers.   • On occasion, FBO will rely on third party affiliates to assist us in providing the services and products we offer to you. For example, we may call upon one or more affiliates to assist us in providing a group discount on services and products for FBO clients. Any affiliate receiving information for FBO will receive only the minimal amount of information necessary to support the services offered by FBO, and will be contractually obligated to preserve that information in confidence. These affiliates will be contractually prohibited from using any information supplied to them for any purpose other than to support FBO services.
